Answer Q: How long does it take to setup my new DEDICATED server? Answer Q: How long does it take to setup my new email server? A: It takes about 30 minutes to setup the mail server if purchased during normal business hours. If you order a dedicated server it takes about 24 hours to build the server, order the domain, setup the name servers and setup the reverse DNS. Go back to question list Q: Will my ISP shut me down for sending to many emails? A: Most of the time NO. Since you are using our server to them all you are doing is sending what looks like data. We also use port 587 as our email sending port so you can get pass most ISPs that block the normal out going email port 25. Q: What is port 587 email server? A: It is very common for many ISPs to restrict the use of port 25 by limiting the user. For example AOL offers no email sending options for many of its users and if they do its common for them to block port 25 completely. In addition most ISPs limit you to the number of emails you can send per hour. We use port 587 to bypass the blocking of port 25. Go back to question list Q: Can I send an opt-in list on your email server? A: Good question. Opt-in lists are OK. Double opt-in lists are better and customer lists are the best. There is no doubt about it...the quality of your list is the most important asset. If you buy a spam list or opt-in list your success rate will not be as good as a well groomed and maintained customer list. Go back to question list Q: Are we limited on the number of emails we can send? A: Yes. Mail servers get blacklisted for 3 main reasons.
1: Sending to fast.....most Email Providers count the number emails sent to them send to fast and they send blacklisting info to block your IP address. For example Yahoo! only allows 150 emails per hour from any domain.
2: IP reputation:: this is new and important. Cisco has setup monitoring that track mail volume. If you send high volume on a new server this will set off an alarm and the IP reputation can be changed to Poor..... if this happens your emails will not reach the inbox.
3 Bad Lists. Never use cheep lists. They contain spam trap emails. only use lists that have email and users ip address. Opt in date and more. If you send to a spam trap your ip will get blacklisted and the block can't be removed for over 30 days.
